MODULAR SHOE IDEA
The idea of the modualr shoe was born out of the idea that you can have a customizable shoe wuth multiple combinations and replacable parts. The idea is to allow for the user to have their say on how their shoe is customized , wether that’s different strap combinations or adding a heel. This idea was born out of observing not only the wasteful and expensive footwear industry but also observing ‘micro trends’ in fashion and how algorythmic suggestions mean a lot of us start to dress the same. The modular shoe allows people to make their own combinations where the 3D printes soles have set locations that the other parts can clip onto accordingly.
The idea is that a database could be created with replaceable parts as well as new designs each season which can be purchased to fit your sole. Can a shoe be fun and stylish whilst not needing to be bought every 6 months?
